We are a husband & wife small business big dream team. We handcraft one of a kind wire woven and wrapped jewelry with sterling silver, copper and brass wire capturing unique semi-precious gemstones, natural fossils, Czech glass buttons and more. We also offer handmade silver plated and copper wire tree sculptures some with gemstone leaves. Each is created in detail and mounted on unique mineral stones and fossils.

What is the best way to clean my copper jewelry?
The easiest way to clean your copper jewelry is to put your piece in a small dish/jar and add just enough Worcestershire Sauce to cover it. Gently swish it around for a minute. I know it sounds weird but you will be AMAZED how well this works. Then rinse in warm water. Allow to completely dry and store in an air tight container or bag to minimize oxidation.
In addition, copper will age or patina with wear and use, and is not treated to prevent this natural oxidizing process. To avoid patina you can scrub your natural copper creations gently with a fine steel wool pad (0000, available at any hardware store), once a month or as needed, dependent upon the amount of wear the piece experiences. Rinse, dry and store in air tight container.
Will my skin turn green from wearing copper jewelry?
Maybe. There are plenty of people that can wear copper jewelry regularly and it does not turn their skin green. However some people, especially those who eat a lot of acidic foods, notice their skin may turn green from wearing copper. This is also known as oxidation when copper reacts with oxygen in the air, sweat and skin oils, creating a green layer of copper carbonate. Relax, it is harmless and nothing you should be worried about. Most likely you're not allergic to the copper, very few people are. Keeping your jewelry clean and dry will help prevent the oxidation from turning your skin green.
